Step back in time and feel the great hospitality of the outback at the historic Tydvil Hotel in Broken Hill. Located at 318 Oxide Street and a little out of the centre of town, you will be surprised by the quality of the food and the friendly staff in the historic hotel. Built in 1891 by a Welsh architect and builder Ress Coventry Rees, who initially used the hotel as his home and then renamed it the Tydvil Hotel after his birth town in Wales Methyr Tydvil.
Take advantage of the charming beer garden and sample the ‘outback” gin produced by The Broken Hill Distillery, part of the Tydvil Hotel who use such local ingredients as Quandongs and Red Gum honey to give their gin that authentic outback taste. Try the “6:45 Gin”, named after the twice daily mine whistle, a feature of daily life in the historic mining town of Broken Hill.

Enjoy the good traditional Aussie pub food in an old style “outback” pub with history and charm. And good gin.
