“VICTORIAN GRANDEUR”

The Shamrock Hotel in Bendigo was built in 1855 at the height of the Gold Rush and was named the “Exchange Hotel”. It was named the “Shamrock Hotel” in 1855 and rebuilt after a fire in 1860 in Grand Victorian style retained to this day.

It had five floors and 37 uniquely designed rooms for accommodation and a number of restaurants and bars. The top floor has remained unopened and unaltered for over one hundred years.

The hotel is truly grand in style in its decoration and architecture.

It also serves typical pub food, done well. It has an outdoor veranda space on the second floor  the main street of Bendigo and some of it most beautiful historical buildings.
