“ITALIAN IFLUENCE IN THE BEAUTIFUL KING VALLEY”
The Mountain View Hotel has been around since 1886 and is nestled in the town of Whitfield in the beautiful King Valley in a pleasant garden setting which includes a one-hundred-year Magnolia tree planted by a Chinese immigrant. The hotel apparently has quite a history including a visit by the bushranger Ned Kelly.
The hotel is now owned by the Pizzini Family who operate a great winery just further into the valley. With Italian inspired wines and food, and friendly family style service, this is a great place to use as a base (they have motel style accommodation) to explore the King Valley or just enjoy a very good pub meal.
