Bungle Bungle Trip Report (4) – After walking around the northern part of the Bungle Bungle Mountains, we returned to the lodge for a short rest, then drove to Kungkalanayi Lookout to watch the sunset.

Kungkalanayi Lookout is a small hill on the west side of the Bungle Bungle Mountains. From the top of the hill, you can enjoy a spectacular 360-degree view.

While admiring this view, we enjoyed a sunset drink with snacks and wine provided by the lodge.
As we chatted with our guide and another couple and enjoyed our sunset drinks, the sun gradually began to set, and the rocky mountains, earth, and grass all turned a deep crimson color!!

The sun sets behind the mountain ranges to the west.

We had a wonderful time watching the most beautiful sunset.

After enjoying the sunset at Bungle Bungle, we returned to the lodge for dinner.
The night sky was beautiful with stars shining brightly.

The next day (Day 3 of the Bungle Bungles), we left the lodge in the morning and arrived in Kununurra in the early afternoon. After a picnic lunch at Ivanhoe Crossing, a spot along the Ord River in Kununurra, we were dropped off at our hotel in Kununurra.
The best season to visit the Kimberley region, including Kununurra and the Bungle Bungles, is winter (June to August).
